We travelled to Kennington looking to maintain our unbeaten record and consequently our position at the top of Division 9.  We did so very comfortably, courtesy of a very impressive all round bowling and ground fielding performance.
Skipper Ash won the toss and chose to field. Dave B ( 2 for 19 ) and Adam ( 2 for 18 ) made sure that Kenningtoncould not get going and they were replaced by Jimmy ( 2 for 8 )and George ( 2 for 7 ) who made life even tougher.  Aided by two smart run outs, this bowling quartet bundled KCC out for just 55. Possibly the best bowling and ground fielding display the II’s have ever given, with the absolute highlight being the excellent glove work of Dave “fast hands” Webb.

After an top tea we settled down to watch the opening bats Webby and Niall M set about putting the finishing touches to the day. They did so with little in the way of trouble.  Inside 18 overs they had completed the job with Webby 26* and Niall 24*. The second time this season we had won by 10 wickets with these two sharing an unbeaten opening partnership.

Full credit must go to every one involved for their effort, commitment and determination as well as skill.

Man of the match – Webby for his 2 stumpings and unbeaten 26*

Jedi – the excellent all round fielding of Rob Howe

Dunce –  no one ( how could there be ).

A great win, made better by finding out that the 1s had picked up their first win of the season.
